Curatorial Statement
"Through distinct yet intertwined practices, Ibrahim Ahmed, Youssef Nabil, and Moataz Nasr explore how personal and collective memories shape Arab identity, using photography and mixed media as tools for reimagining the sense of nostalgia. Nabil's hand-colored portraits evoke the golden age of Egyptian cinema, Ahmed's layered collages reconstruct intimate archives of migration and masculinity, while Nasr's multimedia narratives meditate on social memory and cultural transformation. Together, they reveal how looking back, whether through film, family photos, or shared histories can become a way of questioning belonging."
